Why Single People Smell Different?

There are many reasons why someone might want to know what makes someone’s nose smell different. For example, if you were dating a person that has a very distinctive, or a very distinct odor on the back of their tongue, would you date them? Probably not. Or would you at least give them the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best? After all, if they truly did have such a scent, then it wouldn’t be hard to figure out when someone else is lying or trying to fool you. You would know right then and there whether or not to continue the relationship.

But what if your single partner has a distinct odor? For some reason, the average single person just assumes that every single person on the street has the same, or very similar, smells. And, even though the person might be a friend, co-worker, neighbor, etc… You still feel like you could tell the difference between them and everyone else. Why does this happen? Why do some people smell differently from everyone else?

There are a number of possible answers to this question, and all of them have to do with biology. For instance, you could say that because a single person’s body can’t produce as much sweat as a person with a larger number of sweat glands, the single person’s body smell is stronger and usually more unpleasant than that of the others. But, even though you can smell the difference in the odor, you can’t pinpoint exactly what might be causing it. Why single people smell different and what might be causing it is often more difficult to understand than it is to comprehend.

Other theories deal with the way the olfactory nerves work. Sometimes, the nerves can send impulses to the nose that cause it to pick up and scent something different. The theory is that the nerves might be picking up on the smell of fear or the smell of something else that makes the olfactory nerves more active. This theory, however, doesn’t explain exactly why single people smell differently than everyone else.

One possible reason is that a person’s body chemistry is different. Some people have a lesser amount of a certain chemical in their bodies. Because they have this lesser amount, it allows for the olfactory nerves to send out stronger smells to get the same reaction from the brain as someone with a higher amount of this chemical would get. It might also be that the amount of that particular chemical in the body is changing over time.

Whatever the reason, there is no one answer to the question of why single people smell differently. If you’ve gone through this and still don’t understand, don’t feel bad. You’re not alone.
